This past summer, Baltimore pop-punk band All Time Low stripped down their songs to just an essential heart beat, exclusively for MTV Unplugged. Ken Ober, Game show host/comedian of MTV’s Remote Control has passed away at the age of 52. Remote Control is probably one of my favorite shows on MTV, ya know; back when the shitty network was music-oriented. The show featured Colin Quinn as the sidekick and announcer. Also featured on the show during skits was Adam Sandler, Denis Leary and resident Skin-a-max actress Kari Wührer. Ken Ober was also a producer for Colin Quinn’s Tough Crowd on Comedy Central earlier this decade and The New Adventures of Old Christine. You might also know Ken Ober from various Blues Travelers video, a cameo in National Lampoon’s Loaded Weapon 1, and a writer for Mind of Mencia. The guy hasn’t been in a whole lot but anyone from the 80s certainly knows him as the host of Remote Control. Let’s hope MTV runs a marathon as a tribute to Ken. But they are probably too busy showing Road Rules 69: Sluts vs. Trannys.

We Are The In Crowd, a four-piece band from Poughkeepsie, NY formed earlier this year and now they have signed to independent label Hopeless Records. You’ve only been together for less than a year and you’re on Hopeless Records already? Hmm, something fishy going on there. The band’s current single, “For The Win” will be featured on tonight’s episode of MTV’s “The Hills,” with repeats airing throughout the weekend (if you have no life). So the band’s single is called “For the Win” which is the stupidest fucking Internet saying ever, and their song is appearing on the stupidest fucking TV show ever. Something tells me I’m going to hate We Are The In Crowd.
