The free compilation is organized by the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, HeadCount and the NRDC Action Fund, this collaboration marks the first time free music has been used to prompt Americans to contact their elected officials. It’s been almost a full year, but the wait is finally over. My Morning Jacket are ready to bring their electrifying live show back on the road. The guys will make their way around the Southeastern United States this Spring, including a performance at this year’s Jazzfest in New Orleans. MMJ are also excited to both try something new with their choice for an opening act, and bring some of the spirit of NOLA along with them. The band is honored that the historic Preservation Hall Jazz Band will be supporting them on the run.

Now James, along with his cousin and collaborator Johnny Quaid, are launching Removador Recordings and Solutions – an online platform to shine a light on some of the musicians that he admires and would like to share with the world. The label will also help connect the dots between an ever-growing artistic community that Jim James is apart of, reflecting his eclectic taste and steadfast passion for music. Monsters of Folk was born on the road five years ago when My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Bright Eyes’ Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis, and singer/songwriter M. Ward toured together and regularly sat in on each other’s sets. Now armed with the eclectic and consistently striking songs that make up their debut album, the illustrious quartet will reconvene for a Fall tour. The four members will be switching instruments and trading roles throughout each show, maintaining the freewheeling and highly collaborative spirit of their work together thus far.
