The Irish rock band The Cranberries are back, after taking a hiatus for a few years. Dolores O’Riordan and the band made a stop at Nokia Theatre in Times Square in New York City last night. The concert was sold out, and something tells me that they could have sold out another 2 shows at least.

The Ska is Dead tour made a stop at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ yesterday. The main tour features The Toasters, Mustard Plug, Voodoo Glow Skulls and Deal’s Gone Bad. For this particular show, NJ ska fans were in for a treat since a few other bands were playing like the Pilfers and Hub City Stompers. It felt like a Ska Warped Tour to me.

I recently visited Dublin, Ireland with my girlfriend Kristen. We had a blast and managed to see a lot in 7 days. We walked all over the city and saw Cathedrals, museums, a Zoo, a prison, saw a few Castles, went in a few pubs, did some shopping and even checked out a few things outside the city as well. We went to the West Coast of Ireland one day and saw the Cliffs of Moher (Insanity! – Princess Bride reference). We spent some time in the seaside towns of Malahide, and Howth and walked around the Powerscourt Gardens estate, and Glendalough. All in all, it was a great trip and I would love to go back to Ireland, but this time see more of the countryside. Throughout the trip, I took lots of photographs and wrote about them on my photography website SkaPunkPhotos.com. Here’s a list of the blog postings, along with a few photos:

Monday night, Bryan and I were in the city for Glasvegas’ Webster Hall show, and the band did not disappoint! Signed by Sony/Columbia, Glasvegas are currently on tour in the US in support of their self-titled debut release, and have already spawned two popular singles, “Geraldine,” and “Daddy’s Gone.”
