The 2010 Coachella line up is announced and again proves that it’s one of the best music festivals in the world. The lineup is eclectic and one band that stands out is THE SPECIALS! Yes The Specials will be playing The United States finally!! If the band is playing the festival, it looks like a Specials might be playing elsewhere in the US then?? I’d check their website but my nazi job blocked the website for some reason. Other notable bands playing include: Muse, Jay Z, Them Crooked Vultures, Public Image Limited, Echo and the Bunnymen, Faith No More, Gorillaz, Pavement and lots more! Check out the full lineup below:

Live Reviews

I did not do much planning for Lolla this year. Having attended since it’s re-inception in 2005, I decided to just pick out a few key bands and go with the flow for the most part. I’m glad I did because this was truly one of the best fests, which is saying a lot. Every year, Lolla gets a little bigger and one truly gets bogged down by day two. Unfortunately, I’ve missed a few great performances in the past due to impromptu naps. And I usually end my days with, “I’m never coming back. This is my last year doing this.” And every year Perry Farrell and co. have a knack for luring me back with their artist line-up. This year my key choices were Lou Reed. One thing I’ve learned about Lolla is that nothing turns out as you plan.

As with all of my previous lists of music, they are neither comprehensive nor do they reflect the opinions of all ReadJunk writers. However, with my vast intellect and ability to display scorn towards terrible bands, I feel that I have the authority to make decisions as to which bands and artists you should be listening to right now. I have sorted this look at the first six months of 2009 to reflect different trends in listening and appreciation.
