Pilfers playing Haiti benefit at Knitting Factory April 23rd

Mighty Mighty Bosstones announce Hometown Throwdown lineup


The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have announced their lineup for their Hometown Throwdown shows in Boston. Bim Skala Bim and Darkbuster are returning for the shows! Also opening is the Pilfers, The Pietasters, Razors In The Night and Void Union. The shows are happening between December 26th to 28th at the House of Blues in Boston, MA.

The Ska is Dead tour made a stop at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ yesterday. The main tour features The Toasters, Mustard Plug, Voodoo Glow Skulls and Deal’s Gone Bad. For this particular show, NJ ska fans were in for a treat since a few other bands were playing like the Pilfers and Hub City Stompers. It felt like a Ska Warped Tour to me.

The second leg of the 4th Ska Is Dead tour dates were announced yesterday. The bands participating include the Toasters, Mustard Plug, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Deal’s Gone Bad, The Johnstones. PLUS on select date(s): Pilfers! The most notable show on the list is the Starland Ballroom show on November 15th which includes The Toasters, Mustard Plug, Pilfers, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Deal’s Gone Bad. I’ll definitely be there!

What’s your name and what do you do in the band?
I’m Vinny, I play trombone and sing a little bit

How did you come about being in Pilfers? How did the band come together?
The band formed in in 96′ after me and Coolie had collaborated on a demo of his songs. The ideas just kept growing and we knew we were on to something. We started playing out all over the country. The next thing we know we’re this underground national touring band.

All right Coolie, I know you probably hate to give some history about yourself, but some people might not know; so would you please tell us how you came into the music scene?
Well ok :-) I got in the biz by way of the dancehall scene in Brooklyn New York. A few friends of mine did it so I used to hangout with them and they taught me how to do it. Made my 1st record it got heard by a manager and she introduced me to the Toasters the rest is history :-)
