Rango, the newest animated film from Paramount Pictures and Pirate’s of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski, stars Johnny Depp as the title character. A chameleon that is a household pet that accidentally gets jettisoned from the family vehicle into the desert and a town in desperate need of a hero. Rango is a quirky critter who likes to create characters like he is an actor. Rango does a great job of showcasing Depp’s vocal talents and his many accents as well as it is visually stunning. The film is a great film to watch for both adults and children.

The titles coming out today include: Rango, The Lincoln Lawyer, Entourage: The Complete Seventh Season, Insidious, Robot Chicken Star Wars III, MI-5 Volume 9, Arthur, the Oscar worthy Dinocroc vs. Supergator and more. Each week I’ll list the latest DVD/Blu-Ray releases and point out the ones worth buying. I can’t review everything I get so this serves as a nice guide for what’s coming out each week. Plus, it’s just fun making fun of movies and TV shows!

Rango arrives on Blu-ray/DVD combo July 15th

Rango has been announced for release and is coming out July 15th on Blu-Ray/DVD combo (with a digital copy). Johnny Depp leads an all star cast in this thoroughly original animated film, which has earned over $230 million worldwide. This fun for the whole family release includes an extended cut of the film with an alternate ending and loads of special features. It looked like a lot of fun to me and looking forward to seeing it when it comes out on July 15th.
