Pearl Jam played SNL last night. Jude Law hosted the show, and Jerry Seinfeld did a segment with Seth Meyers on Wekeend Update. Pearl Jam played songs “Just Breathe” and “Unthought Known.” I would have thought they would have played “The Fixer” or “Amongst The Wave” but those songs are great as well. Check out the video below:

Fishbone have never released an official live album until 2009. That’s crazy considering they have been known as a premier live band for years! The band released this CD/DVD back in February in the States, but I believe it was released earlier overseas? Fishbone played a show in Bordeaux, France on April 23, 2008 and it was recorded and filmed for this release. This is a must-have for Fishbone fans!

Pearl Jam is playing Madison Square Garden again! This time I think I might get some tickets to see them live. They are band I always wanted to see live so I think now’s a good chance to do that. Especially when Band of Horses are opening! We’ll have ticket sale links when they are posted on TicketBastard. The band announced today that they will play Midwest and East Coast tour dates in May of 2010. The tour kicks-off on May 3rd at Sprint Center in Kansas City and wraps on May 21st at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Pearl Jam’s U.S. tour follows the band’s previously announced headlining appearance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation Festival on May 1st.

For his first studio album in seven years, Grammy-winning guitarist and rock n roll legend Jeff Beck returns with an eclectic mix of tracks that find the guitar virtuoso accompanied by a handpicked cast of talented musicians, as well as several songs accompanied by a 64-piece orchestra. Rhino unleashes the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s restless genius with Emotion And Commotion. The album will be available on Atco Records, an imprint of Rhino Entertainment, on April 13th at all retail outlets, including www.rhino.com, for a suggested list price of $18.98 (CD) and $9.99 (digital).

Band of Horses will release their third full length LP, entitled Infinite Arms on May 18th through 3 various record labels: Brown Records, Fat Possum Records and Columbia Records. I guess that solves the which label are they going to release the CD on? This has been one of the most anticipated albums of the year for me so I hope it lives up to their last 2 albums. the album cover artwork will feature the photography of the band’s long time collaborator Christopher Wilson.

Harvey Milk announced that they have a new album coming out called “A Small Turn of Human Kindness,” out May 18th on Hydra Head Records! A Small Turn of Human Kindness is as dense and as heavy temperamentally as it is musically. The seven songs so subtly bleed together that the listener has no choice but to view the entire album as a linear orchestration with a singular ebb and flow…. a rising and falling action, refined to hell and back. And so, all of these things lead me to believe that any and all true HARVEY MILK fans will eventually argue this record as the band’s finest work. Or at least the vinyl version will become the quintessential mantle-piece for a generation of suburban children slumming it in the inner city… you know who you are!
