Various Artists – “Almost Alice”

Record Label: Buena Vista Records
Genre: Soundtrack
Buy on Amazon.com

I guess Disney thought it would be a good idea to make an album of a bunch of “hit” artists that have nothing to do with the actual Alice in Wonderland movie. I never got that part of the movie biz, if the song isn’t in the movie it shouldn’t be included on a soundtrack. There should just be a Danny Elfman release with that shitty Avril Lavigne song at the end.

Soundtrack – “Youth in Revolt”

Record Label: Lakeshore Records
Genre: Soundtrack
Buy on Amazon.com

I used to like Michael Cera’s movies but lately I’m just sick of his characters. They end up being all the same; awkward dorky high school kids wearing a hoody and that listens to indie rock. The guy is 21 now; don’t you think he should be playing someone who isn’t 16 anymore? Youth In Revolt is about a young outcast who likes this girl. But she doesn’t like him back so he creates an alter-ego that’s the complete opposite of him. Girls like bad boys right? His alter-ego makes him a wanted criminal, and everything just gets out of hand.

Soundtrack – “Caddyshack: Limited Edition”

Record Label: La-La-Land Records
Genre: Soundtrack

Caddyshack is a comedy classic, and it’s a movie I always have to watch when it’s on TV; even though they censor the crap out of it. I’m also probably one of the few that likes the sequel Caddyshack II as well. But the first movie is perhaps one of the most quotable movies out there. “It’s in the hole!” The soundtrack to Caddyshack has been out of print for years and has never been on CD, until now! This CD is limited edition from La-La-Land Records and only 1500 copies are being pressed. So I guess this soundtrack will be out of print soon enough (again).

Alice in Wonderland soundtrack tracklisting‏ revealed

Yesterday MySpace exclusively revealed the soundtrack listing for the highly anticipated film Alice in Wonderland. Curious to hear the soundtrack but I’m also curious to hear the film score from Danny Elfman! Gotta love when Elfman and Burton collaborate! The music from the fantasy adventure includes Franz Ferdinand, Avril Lavigne, The All-American Rejects, Owl City, Mark Hoppus and Pete Wentz, Wolfmother and many more popular artists. Alice in Wonderland stars Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Crispin Glover. The film is directed by Tim Burton and will be released in theaters on March 5. Mark Bradshaw – “Bright Star”

Bright Star is a movie about English poet John Keats. The movie is based on the last 3 years of Keats’ young life. Keats has a love affair with his next door neighbor Fanny Brawne, but his life ends way too short at the age of 23. Oops, spoiled the movie. I didn’t even knew this movie existed, but it’s now available on DVD as well.

The Stepfather is the latest movie I haven’t seen and probably won’t be seeing anytime soon. The movie is a thriller and is about…a Stepfather? Turns out that guy is a killer and he gets help from his girlfriend and friends to take this guy down. ZZZZZZ.

Christopher Young – “Drag Me To Hell”

Record Label: Lakeshore Records
Genre: Film Score
Buy on Amazon.com

Sam Raimi is back making horror flicks, something he was born to do. He hasn’t done a horror movie since the Evil Dead movies. Since he has a few more movies under his belt, I’m sure this is ten times better than what he started out making. Drag Me To Hell is about a loan officer who turns down a loan, and gets cursed in the process. If she doesn’t pass along the curse, she gets sent to Hell. So this is family film then?
