Flogging Molly and NOFX headlining Punk Rock Bowling Tournament


Every year I see news about the Punk Rock Bowling Tournament, and every year I feel like going. Just kind of hard to book tickets for a show that’s far away in Las Vegas. Besides Flogging Molly and NOFX, Fucked Up, Swinging Utters, The Revival Tour, Youth Brigade, Cobra Skulls, and Teenage Bottlerocket will be playing with the punk rock festival that is taking place over 3 days. And it’s open to the general public this year, so that’s pretty sweet! More details are below:

British singer-songwriter Frank Turner has released his newest video for the title track of hid new album, “Poetry of the Deed.” The new video features a montage of Turner’s exhilarating live performances from the last few months and comes just in time for Turner’s trek across the US on “The Revival Tour” with Chuck Ragan (Hot Water Music), Jim Ward (Sparta), Tim Barry (Avail), Joey Cape (Lagwagon) and Dave Hause (The Loved Ones) among others.

The Revival Tour 2009 announced!

The second annual Revival Tour 2009–a nationwide trek founded by Chuck Ragan, the singer/songwriter/guitarist and Hot Water Music co-frontman–is set to launch October 13 in Louisville and wrap November 21 in St. Petersburg. Drawing from a diverse group of established musicians in indie Americana, rock, punk, Irish folk, Cajun, zydeco and blues, THE REVIVAL TOUR will take the band of traveling musicians through 32 U.S. cities including New York City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego, Austin, Dallas, Atlanta and many more.

Chuck Ragan set to release “Gold Country”

For most of us the phrase Gold Country evokes memories of the 49ers who flocked to California by boat and covered wagon in order to seek fortune for themselves and their families. Chuck Ragan’s latest disc may be coming out a few lifetimes after the gold rush of the mid-nineteenth century, however there’s a timeless quality to the album that embodies the hope and hard work that helped define that period in the American consciousness. That has a lot to do with the fact that there’s nothing preconceived about Gold Country. It’s simply the sound of a talented songwriter doing what his kind has been doing for centuries: playing simple songs alongside a close group of friends not for hope of financial gains, but because he literally has no other choice.
