
Jay Blakesberg is a San Francisco-based photographer and video director whose work appears regularly in many magazines, including Rolling Stone and Guitar Player. Over the last 30 years his photographic rock and roll journey has seen him work with many legendary artists including The Grateful Dead, Carlos Santana, Tom Waits, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Radiohead, Phish, Dave Matthews and John Lee Hooker to name just a few. He has published several volumes of his work that includes books on The Grateful Dead, Primus and The Flaming Lips. Recently he has directed live concert video for The Flaming Lips, REM, Spearhead, Gov’t Mule, Jackie Greene, Widespread Panic, and The Allman Bros. His most recent book is ‘Traveling on a High Frequency’ which is a 30-year retrospective of his music photography.

Seeing a Tom Waits live show is like watching a rare comet, you’ll be lucky enough to see it once during your life time. In 2008, Tom Waits picked out a bunch of US & Europe cities he hasn’t played in before, or in a long time. The tour was very successful, so it was only a matter of time that Anti Records would release a live album by Waits.

Tom Waits is set to release Glitter and Doom Live, a collection of outstanding live tracks from his 2008 sold out US and European tour. This two CD set contains 17 live recordings from ten nights along the tour including, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Tulsa, Knoxville, Atlanta, Paris, Milan, Jacksonville, Dublin and Columbus. The second CD entitled, Tom Tales holds nearly 40 minutes of Waits quixotic ruminations on topics ranging from romantic spiders to injured vultures. The CD will also come with a booklet of live photos.

Prepare to blast off on an intergalactic musical experience when the electronic alt-dance duo, N.A.S.A. blasts off for a mini-tour this month! With Hollywood Holt as their main support for four of the six dates, N.A.S.A. starts things off in Reno on 8/11, then heads over to LA (8/12) followed by Salt Lake City (8/13), Denver (8/14), San Francisco (8/15) and then finally landing in NYC on 8/20.
