I guess Disney thought it would be a good idea to make an album of a bunch of “hit” artists that have nothing to do with the actual Alice in Wonderland movie. I never got that part of the movie biz, if the song isn’t in the movie it shouldn’t be included on a soundtrack. There should just be a Danny Elfman release with that shitty Avril Lavigne song at the end.

The Princess and The Frog saw the return of 2D animation from Walt Disney Studios and I’m glad they returned to this style. It’s the style I grew up watching after all! I don’t know if The Princess and The Frog is a good movie or not but not sure it did that great in theaters. I have a feeling it will do better on video, like most things nowadays. The DVD and Blu-Ray will be released on March 16th, 2010 from Disney/ Buena Vista. The press release is down below:

Yesterday MySpace exclusively revealed the soundtrack listing for the highly anticipated film Alice in Wonderland. Curious to hear the soundtrack but I’m also curious to hear the film score from Danny Elfman! Gotta love when Elfman and Burton collaborate! The music from the fantasy adventure includes Franz Ferdinand, Avril Lavigne, The All-American Rejects, Owl City, Mark Hoppus and Pete Wentz, Wolfmother and many more popular artists. Alice in Wonderland stars Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Crispin Glover. The film is directed by Tim Burton and will be released in theaters on March 5. Can’t wait to see this in 3D!

Pixar Animation’s fourth film, Monsters Inc, now available in Disney Blu Ray, continues to impress with yet another strong Pixar film. The big, fury, monster Sully (Goodman) and his one eyed friend Mike (Crystal) are some of Monsters Inc top scare team in the secret city of Monstropolis, and in order for the city to have power they must rely on the “screams” generated from Monsters Inc. The outside “Real world” never had any interaction with the city otherwise and are considered a threat to the health of Monstropolis. Of course that all changes with 2 year old “Boo” who sneaks in to Monstropolis after one of Sully’s shifts. Monsters, Inc is a cute family film with plenty of laughs, action and overall an excellent animated flick.

When I originally saw the trailer for Up, I didn’t know what to think of it. I wasn’t sure if I was going to go see it or not. Since Up was getting excellent word of mouth from critics, I decided to see the movie on opening weekend in 3-D. I’m glad I saw it that way, because Up was one of the best movies of the year! Pixar continues to make impressive movies that both adults and children can enjoy and Up is one of those movies!

Disney’s first full length animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, is available to own for the first time in glorious high definition, and it’s a must own for Disney animation fans. Walt Disney set out in 1937 to deliver something different that the world has never seen before, and many thought he was doomed to start after announcing a full length “cartoon,” but this film would essentially put the Walt Disney Co. on the map. Based off the fairytale by the Brothers Grimm, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs deals with primarily the jealously of a stepmother who is Queen of the land and her beautiful, young stepdaughter, Princess Snow White.

Like with most things, ReadJunk.com is a little late in the game with making fun of something. Walt Disney bought Marvel this week for a butt load of money. The buyout spawned a bunch of articles from various movie websites, wondering what type of movies Disney & Marvel would release now. Here are some of the Disney/Marvel movies we’d like to see:

Disneynature’s first film from their new film venture, Earth, is a shockingly beautiful display of imagery, and story as it focuses on the planet from the North Pole to the South. Narrated by James Earl Jones, Earth is considered a shorter, fast paced “greatest hits” of the award winning documentary Planet Earth from BBC Films. Produced by Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield, this documentary is 5 years in the making. Featuring some advancements in film and photography, the documentary Earth captures amazing sights and footage. Rated G, some children or even adults will be frightened by the animals in their natural habitat and attacking others. Most appealing in high definition, Earth is a glorious sight to see.

Why bother going to the movies when you can just wait 2 months for video to come out. The Proposal with Ryan Reynolds, Sandra Bullock and Betty White looked like a typical but funny romantic comedy. I’ll probably want to see this but I’m not going to expect much from it. Below is the official press release:
