Why did you want to be in a band?
Just something to do in my free time

Do you feel the Dropkick Murphys brought back the popularity of Celtic music mixed in with rock like The Pogues did in the 80s? Everywhere you go, there’s a kid wearing a DKM or Flogging Molly shirt. It seems like there is more Celtic rock/ Celtic punk b
Yeh I think it’s probably more popular now then ever, I think we were able to turn alot of younger kids on to bands like the Pogues and lots of traditional stuff as well.

You recently got featured on nhl.com, and it talked about how big a Boston Bruins fan you are. I’m a huge hockey fan as well. (Sorry Rangers fan) Do you play hockey at all or just stick to watching it?
Not as much as I’d like but I’m skating tomorrow morning with a bunch of former ECHL thugs so hopefully I still be alive after that.

Have you guys ever thought of doing an album of just traditional Irish tunes?
Not really cause we don’t like to focus exclusively on that side of the band. We enjoy mixing it up with the rock and the punk and the HC

Would you guys ever consider making the band even bigger? It seems you add a few new members every couple of years. How about adding an orchestra to back you up?
If you and your instrument can fit in the van your welcome. No Tuba players they are to big.

You guys haven’t really been touring too much, what have you been doing lately?
Writing, recording, being a dad, watching hockey

What would be the ideal tour to do? what bands would you want to open for and what bands open for you?
Slapshot, Dropkick Murphys, Blood for Blood, Ducky Boys, The Trouble

A New album is in the works right? Will Shane MacGowan or other famous musicians appear on the CD?
No but maybe we’ll let some of our unfamous friends get in on it

What’s one band that needs to throw in the towel? (From any genre)
Limp dick Bisket

You guys were on Late Night With Conan O Brien once, and played “The Spicey McHaggis Jig”. During that song, one of Conan’s skit actors came out in the his Scottish gear and did a Jig for you guys. Were you surprised to see that or did you guys plan that
Yeh we planned that out, we actually asked for the masturbating bear but they can only use him so many times a month ,something to do with censorship or something. So we asked Kilty Mcbagpipes to come out. We just wanted to have a good time, Conan said after “too many bands take themselves to serious and that it was nice to see a band having fun up there”, we thought that was cool.

You guys are releasing a DVD soon. What’s going to be on it? Any cool behind the scenes stuff?
We’ve decided to hold off on that until 2004 cause so we could actually add more behind the scenes stuff. We are putting the Live footage from St. Paddys day 2002, all the music videos, tons of home video from the road and backstage shenanigans.
