Miami ska punk band Askultura have premiered a music video for their song “In Water We Trust – Mni Wiconi (#noDAPL).” The song features Peruvian band Kuyayky and Pedro ‘el criollito’ Erazo of Gogol Bordello. Sang in English, Lakota, Spanish, and Quechua, the song directly supports the ongoing protection of the waters in opposition to the DAPL pipeline up on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation of the Lakota people. The multi-billion dollar project is threatening the water of the Missouri River and is in direct violation to several indian treaties.
Askultura is playing Flogging Molly’s Salty Dog Cruise March 11-13, 2017 and the Supernova International Ska Fest May 27-28, 2017 in Fredericksburg, VA. The EP will be released on Xmas 2016. More details at http://www.askultura.com.
