Coen Brothers remaking “True Grit”

Movie News | Mar 23rd, 2009

It was only a matter of time that the Coen Brothers were going to make a Western. They pretty much made a Western with “No Country For Old Men.” The Oscar winning writers and directors will be remaking the John Wayne classic “True Grit.” But they will be re-doing some things.

The duo will be following more closely to the Charles Portis book instead of the John Wayne film. It will be centering around a 14-year-old girl who tracks her father’s killer and gets help from an old US Marshall and another lawman. No word yet on who will be in the movie. My guess Tommy Lee Jones, he seems like a good fit for the John Wayne part. But maybe he’s too obvious of a choice? Either way, I’m intrigued about this project.
