Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

Ballyhoo! goes on tour today and the Maryland reggae rock band also released a new single today called “Mixtape.” The track is the first new music from their forthcoming sixth full-length album that is due out in early 2016. They are in Fort Pierce, Florida today at the Inlet and will be working their way around the US until the end of the year. On December 10th, they will play with Roots of Creation at the Marlin Room at Webster Hall in NYC. Before that, they will be playing with Pepper on the majority of their tour dates.

“’Mixtape’ is written from the perspective of when you’re a kid and you’re really longing for someone, “ says singer, songwriter and guitarist Howi Spangler. “I was a hopeless romantic and remember making mixtapes for girls hoping they wouldn’t put me in the “friend zone.” Fans can check out the song here: smarturl.it/BhooMixtape.

Ballyhoo! teamed up with PledgeMusic to bring their fans along for exclusive insight into the recording process: with photos, video clips, real-time streaming video from inside the studio, sit-down Q&A sessions and exclusive opportunities to meet the band. Tonight the band kicks off their fall tour in Fort Pierce, Florida as they wind their way westward to meet up with Pepper and Katastro for a U.S. tour that begins October 22nd in Santa Ana, California and ends back in California on November 21st in Ventura.

The four-piece of Spangler, drummer Donald Spangler, bassist Nick Lucera and keyboardist Scott Vandrey have logged millions of miles since their touring schedule took off in 2006 after the release of their second album, Do It For The Money.

Now on their 5th van, the group most recently toured with Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake. Their nationwide tours include 2012’s Vans Warped Tour and major U.S. tours with 311, Dirty Heads, Authority Zero, and Iration among others.

Having formed when they were just young teenagers in 1995, the humble and hardworking Ballyhoo! have released five full-length albums and several singles and EP’s while steadily growing their fanbase with their near-constant touring and always evoking a positive, feel-good, vibe. The group’s most recent full-length, 2013’s Pineapple Grenade!! landed on the Billboard charts and met with high praise from critics and fans alike.
