After 4 years of success on the West Coast, California Roots Festival: The Carolina Sessions is bringing the reggae rock fest to East Coast. The Carolina Sessions will be happening on Saturday October 26th at Battleship Park in Wilmington, NC. Some of the bands playing the festival include SOJA, Dirty Heads, Tribal Seeds and Ballyhoo.

With a successful run on the West Coast for four years, The California Roots Festival sets its sights on the East Coast for the California Roots Festival: The Carolina Sessions. The festival is packed with a stellar lineup of reggae-rock acts ready to show East Coasters what they’ve been missing out on. The one day festival will feature two stages of live music, and run all day October 26th, starting at 11AM.

The driving force behind bringing California Roots to the East Coast is a fan base that is hungry to experience a high caliber festival featuring many of their favorite bands without having to travel across the nation to do so. Over the last few years it became evident to event organizers that there was a large contingent of East Coasters making the trip. When Co-Founder Dan Sheehan was approached by a team led by Union Artists Group Owner and President Zack Johnson, the pieces came together to schedule and organize The Carolina Sessions event.

The Festival will see 5000+ people in attendance, and is poised to sell out well in advance of the show date. VIP passes for California Roots: The Carolina Sessions sold out within minutes of going on sale, and early bird tickets sold out in mere hours, so fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets early to make sure they don’t miss out. Attendees are encouraged to purchase parking in advance in order to gain quicker entry to the event.

The Carolina Sessions is a natural next step for California Roots and the groups partnering on the festival foresee it becoming a regularly occurring event, meaning that East Coasters can look forward to future California Roots Festivals close to home for years to come.

The East Coast’s vibe and energy give it a unique identity, which is reflected in the poster art, designed by esteemed surf artist Jay Alders. A native of New Jersey, and no stranger to the North Carolina coast, Alders was the first choice of Zack Johnson to create the poster art, and his work expertly captures the feeling and essence The Carolina Sessions aims to evoke.
