Irish folk singer Christy Moore is to headline the Cambridge Folk Festival in 2005, organisers have announced.
The event, which is held from 28 to 31 July, will also include singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams, The Proclaimers and folk band Altan.
It also includes a rare and exclusive festival appearance from “the writer behind some of the 20th century’s greatest classic songs”, Jimmy Webb.
Tickets go on sale on 1 May and the event is expected to sell out.
Billed as an “eclectic and exciting” mix of music, the festival – in its 41st year – also features gospel legends The Blind Boys Of Alabama, celebrating a career spanning over 60 years.
Festival favourite Kate Rusby, described as “the leading light in English folk music” and now an international star is also appearing.
