Sorry folks, I’m not promoting anything from Ticketbastard (err I mean Ticketmaster) any longer as they continue to screw over their affiliates month after month. Don’t even get me started on what Ticketmaster does to their customers! The Concert Tickets page that I’ve been doing (almost) every week will be done effective immediately and I won’t be adding any more links to Ticketmaster on news postings either. Sorry you’ll just have to find your own way around buying tickets.
Originally, I started the Concert Tickets postings to get a few extra dollars for ticket sales and to give fans a chance to know when tickets and shows were happening. BUT then Ticketmaster changed the affiliate program so their slimy sponsors got first licks at ticket sales. That meant not making a cent on sales in the pre-sale period or within 24 hours of the tickets going on sale. Usually you’d make 50 cents or a buck on sales here and there. Not that big of a deal but over a few months it was a nice check in the mail for the affiliate sites like ReadJunk.com and others. That was beyond retarded to change the policies around. Now they are doing away with the program all together! Yet they seem to think people will link to Ticketmaster out of the good gracious of their hearts. Fuck that shit! My advice? Buy tickets directly from the bands or venues and cut out these corporate, greedy assholes of a company.
We regret to inform you that as of October 15, 2010, we will no longer award commissions for tickets sold through our program. As the program cookie period is 30 days, we will make payments on any cookies dropped up to the 15th but none there after. This was a difficult decision to make, as we recognize the fiscal impact on our affiliates.
Despite this decision, we realize that many affiliates may still benefit from the information and content available via our extensive event database. As a result, we will continue to offer our affiliates access to our creative database, product feeds, as well as our real time tracking and reporting….
