The band will also celebrate a wee bit early. On Record Store Day, April 16, lucky Dengue Fever fans will have a chance to find a Golden Ticket (hand-crafted by Dengue Fever guitarist Zac Holtzman) in the limited release vinyl edition of Cannibal Courtship.
Cannibal Courtship is a milestone for Dengue Fever, the maturation of a sound that has been ripening for a decade. Over the 11 tracks, the band has incorporated everything from fuzz guitar, Afrobeat, backing vocals from The Living Sisters and still incorporates all the Cambodian rock weirdness that has made them a press favorite.
Cannibal Courtship also serves as the debut for the Mastadong, a one-of-a-kind half Fender Jazzmaster guitar, half Cambodian Chapei Dong Veng which was created exclusively for Dengue Fever guitarist Zac Holtzman. Its sonic stamp is all over the album, and its cool visual impression made both the front and back cover art.
