FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND has announced that they will be touring the U.S. this January / February 2009, in support of new album Memory And Humanity, released on 28th October 2008. Support comes from Victory Records THE SLEEPING, with more acts to be announced shortly. Internet pre-sale for the tour begins today via this link tixx1.artistarena.com/funeralforafriend/, and are on sale to the public from Friday 24th October.

Formed in a small town called Bridgend in Wales in 2001, the band built their fanbase from grass roots, working their way into the hearts of rock fans with the release of their debut Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation, winning awards and becoming magazine cover stars. Following the release of 7 Ways to Scream Your Name, a compilation of the band s first two EP s, the band made their album debut in the U.S. 2005 with the release of Hours on Atlantic Records, gaining critical acclaim in SPIN, REVOLVER, BLENDER and ALTERNATIVE PRESS, following up with Tales Don t Tell Themselves in 2007, which debuted at number 3 in the UK album charts.

Now in 2008, the band prepare to release Memory and Humanity, which frontman Matthew Davies claims is thematically the band s darkest and most poignant record to date, while sonically also the rawest, most honest and energetic-sounding album of the band s career. Memory and Humanity, FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND s fourth album, goes back to the roots of their debut, while keeping the sweet, anthemic melodies they have now become renowned for in tact.
