Sadly, guitarist Bob Boulding is leaving the LA Celtic rock band Young Dubliners at the end of they year. Sucky news since Bob has been with the band for over 17 years! I was happy I got to see him play one last time with the band back in September at the Mercury Lounge in NYC. If you’re in the area when they play their final shows for the year, you better be there to give Bob a proper send off! In the meantime, Young Dubs will be looking for a new guitarist and hopefully they will be putting out a new album soon too.
Singer Keith wrote about the news on the band’s newsletter:
On a sad note we have to announce that Bob will be leaving the band at the end of the year. We will let you know when and where his last show will be with us but all the remaining shows in 2017 will be “last shows” so come on down and give him a send off. He has been an intricate part of this band for over 17 years and we will miss him and wish him the best.
We are auditioning guitarists as I type and will keep you posted as the search progresses.
We will look until we find a great and worthy replacement and the Young Dubs will keep on rolling. It’ll be a new adventure for all of us and all of you.
Good luck Bob with whatever you’re doing next!
