Post Chronicle: British rocker Rich Archer is recovering after an amp blew up in his face during work on his band’s latest record.

The Hard-Fi star was in the studio recording tracks for upcoming album Once Upon A Time In The West when the electrical explosion occurred, but he miraculously escaped without serious injury.

Bandmate Ross Phillips recalls, “We did nearly lose Rich as a guitar amp went up in flames. We had to evacuate to avoid choking to death.”

However, he adds progress since the accident has been less chaotic: “There have been no major punch-ups and the tracks are cooking.”
