Joe Sib (owner of SideOneDummy) joins 98.7 FM for Punk Show

L.A.’s famed and only dedicated Punk Rock radio show, “Complete Control Radio” hosted by the show’s founder, Joe Sib, is coming to 98-7fm. Complete Control Radio’s playlist consists of everything from Old School Punk like, The Ramones, The Clash and Buzzcocks, to up-and-coming bands like, Dead To Me, The Gaslight Anthem and The Riverboat Gamblers. Sib, started the show in 2004, and to date, Complete Control Radio is on the air now in seven cities including Los Angeles, Austin, Portland, San Jose, Denver, Ames Iowa and Sarasota Florida. The show can also be heard worldwide every Friday night at 10PM Eastern on punkradiocast.com.
“In creating Complete Control Radio,” Sib says, “I wanted it to be dedicated to Punk Rock. New and old. I also wanted to give listeners an inside look at the people in the music industry – and people tied to Punk Rock through extreme sports. My guests include everyone from bands, professional skateboarders, managers, artists and agents; anyone with insight into the lifestyle of the Punk Rock music world.” On coming to 98-7fm, Sib continued, “Get ready Los Angeles, it’s on AGAIN! I can’t wait to take over 98-7 every Saturday night and to put some real Punk Rock back on the air. Check it out and hold on tight. It’s gonna be a killer two hour ride every week!””
Joe Sib along with his partner Bill Armstrong own the independent label, Side One Dummy Records, known for consistently releasing some of the best independent music in the world (Flogging Molly, Gogol Bordello, The Gaslight Anthem, Bedouin Soundclash, Chuck Ragan, Fake Problems, Anti-Flag and many more.) The label also partners with The Warped Tour to release the tour’s official compilation each year. Some of Sibs other projects include hosting the skateboard events at the X Games in 2006 and 2007, and hosting music events for Fuel TV.
Program Director for 98-7fm, Julie Pilat, says “Putting Complete Control Radio on at 98-7 was basically a no-brainer decision for me. From The Warped Tour to The Glass House there’s a massive amount of love for Punk Rock in So. Cal. that has recently been under served. Joe has been a natural fit in the scene and community since he was touring in bands.
