Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

Less Than Jake just released their awesome TV/EP and now they just announced tour dates for the winter. Guys, you know it snows up here right? I guess some wimp snowstorms won’t stop the pez lovers. They are planning their next U.S. tour after they return from a Japanese/European tour this Fall and early Winter, the guys will be kicking off in mid-January and circling around the U.S. in preparation for some big plans in 2011. Support for these dates will be Supervillains, Off With Their Heads with local acts added at a later date. Presale went on sale yesterday at www.lessthanjaketix.com.

Presale packages include different tiers that offer difference bonus packages, some of which will include expanded re-releases of Losing Streak and Hello Rockview (details forthcoming).

Always plotting new ways to keep their music and live shows exciting, the band is looking forward to keeping things interesting. “We have a few tricks planned,” says drummer Vinnie Fiorello, “but we like keeping the element of surprise to the show instead of hype.” Less Than Jake’s latest release, “TV/EP” was released earlier this week, in trademark fashion, kept fans wondering what television theme songs and commercials they were covering. Instead of listing the tracks by name, they opted to keep that element of surprise intact by listing the songs as by channels instead of titles (i.e. Track One = “Channel 1”, etc.). He continues, “We started discussing ‘TV/EP’ as a fun project to do between records while we had time off from touring, cherrypicking out favorite theme songs and stumbling onto new favorites. We hadn’t done covers in a long time and decided to do this release, but adding twists like TV static and remote control clicks, never giving you a moment to not think about it.”

“TV/EP” has been generating great reviews throughout the media. AltPress.com said, “Anyone wishing to reminisce about the golden age that was the third wave of ska-punk will find plenty to like [in TV/EP].” They Will Rock You chimes, “TV/EP serves as a reminder that this new decade needs a whole lot more Less than Jake.” Created to mimic the experience of flipping through channels randomly, the always unpredictable and entertaining Florida-based band recorded a host of television show theme songs and assorted commercials in trademark Less Than Jake fashion, mixing ska, punk and pop and injecting it with a heavy dose of blitzed out fun. Spanning from the vintage adverts of yesteryear to the frenetic promos of modern day, TV/EP reimagines a world where pop punk and ska is the music de rigueur, even on television.

LESS THAN JAKE’s TV/EP was released on October 12, 2010 via Sleep It Off Records. The full EP (all 16 tracks) is available on iTunes for $6.98.
