Hot off the heels of the recent release of his US full-length debut, Real Control and US touring with the likes of Against Me!, Rhett Miller, Franz Nicolay, Bedouin Soundclash, Jesse Malin & the St Marks Social and the Love Language, Stockholm, Sweden’s MONEYBROTHER has announced he will be direct support for Flogging Molly’s 7th annual Green 17 Tour.

MONEYBROTHER is the solo project from Anders Wendin (originally of Monster fame) where he utilizes elements of 60s and 70s soul, string arrangements and dramatic lyrics, to create what the LA Weekly describes as “a Scandinavian stew of reggae, disco and roots-rocking thrash.” Named after the two words that his baby brother could pronounce in English, MONEYBROTHER walked straight into people’s hearts with his explosive 2003 debut album, Blood Panic, that garnered rave reviews in the Swedish press, earned Wendin a Swedish Grammy for Rock Album of the Year, and was eventually certified gold. Since then, Wendin has continued to reach new successful heights throughout Europe including a platinum selling 2006 Swedish covers record, Pengabrorsan, his album, Mount Pleasure, which debuted #1 on the Swedish rock album charts in 2007, and not to mention a Swedish tomato soup brand that bears the MONEYBROTHER name. Now Wendin has set his sights stateside with his first US full length release, Real Control.

Real Control was released in 2010 via Bladen County Records (the Love Language, the Builders and the Butchers, Anders Parker) and Sabot Productions (Against Me!, the Hold Steady, the Gaslight Anthem). The infectiously dance-able first single from Real Control entitled “Born Under a Bad Sign” was produced by Bjorn Yttling of fellow Swedes Peter Bjorn & John. You can also download “Down At The R,” which appeared on the European release of Mount Pleasure and was reworked/rercorded for the US Release of Real Control.
