MxPx are celebrating their 22nd Anniversary and plan on releasing a MxPX Acoustic Collection on July 6th via Rock City Recordings. You can pre-order the MXPX Acoustic Collection via BandCamp and receive an immediate download of “Let It Happen.”

Bremerton, WA’s favorite punk-rock band, MXPX, will release their first set of acoustic jams, MXPX Acoustic Collection, available on their 22nd anniversary, Sunday, July 6, 2014, through the band’s label imprint, Rock City Recordings. (#mxpx22)

The album was produced by the band’s lead singer and bassist, Mike Herrera, in his own Monkey Trench Studios and mastered by Descendents and All guitarist Stephen Egerton. Survival Guide’s Emily Whitehurst (aka Agent M) lent her vocals on three tracks: “Tomorrow Is Another Day,” “Secret Weapon” and “Buildings Tumble.” This isn’t the first vocal partnership for the two – Whitehurst made a guest appearance on MXPX’s sophomore covers album, On The Cover II, on a cover of Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven Is A Place On Earth.”

The band is constantly responding to requests from its fans through their social media pages and PxPx Fan Club message boards. Mike Herrera explains, “This was a request record from our fans. We’ve been asked hundreds of times to release an acoustic album and we finally have complied, just in time for our 22nd anniversary milestone. Most of these I’ve been performing live acoustically for a while now, but I rearranged some of them specifically for this release, giving the songs a whole new perspective and feel. Although these are studio-quality performances, I really tried to keep the overall sound of the production reined in and focused on the crux of the songs. All the tracks are my favorite ones to do acoustically.”

In support of the new release, fans can see some of the tracks performed live, as Mike Herrera will join the Vans Warped Tour’s Acoustic Basement Stage starting on the band’s 22nd anniversary July 6 in Holmdel, NJ, through July 18 in Auburn Hills, MI. (See below for a full list of dates.)
