Of Montreal playing Late Night with Jimmy Fallon with Solange Knowles on July 29th

Polyvinyl is thrilled to announce that of Montreal have scheduled a performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday July 29 (12:35am ET / 11:35pm CT) in support of False Priest (Sep. 14). The band will perform the album’s second single, “Sex Karma” with special guest Solange Knowles. Knowles also appears on the single on False Priest. The band will also film a web exclusive performance of the album’s lead single, “Coquet Coquette.”

of Montreal will kick off a short summer tour with a headline festival appearance at the Land of Nod Experiment in Jackson, MI July 25 and a stop at the Osheaga Festival in Montreal, QE on July 30. The band has two club shows including Higher Ground in Burlington, VT on July 31 and the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC on August 2. There is also an extremely rare Kevin Barnes solo appearance on August 7 in Lake Worth, FL at the Lake Worth-It Festival at Bryant Park.

Then on September 13 – 26 and October 21-November 5, the band will tour the U.S. with Wondaland Arts Society / Bad Boy recording artist Janelle Monáe (select dates). The tour will kick off in Washington, D.C. with a two night stand on September 13-14 at the 9:30 Club. Other venue highlights include Terminal 5 in New York , NY on September 17-18, The Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA on October 27, and The Palladium in Los Angeles, CA on October 30. of Montreal has also scheduled a two-week European tour October 3-15.

In other news, of Montreal fans in the Seattle area will get to preview False Priest at a very special listening party at Lynwood Bowl and Skate on Saturday August 21 from 5-7pm PT. The band will not be in attendance. This will be a chance to hear False Priest in it’s entirety, along with selection of tunes from Montreal’s discography, on roller skates. The event will also feature a costume contest (dress up as your favorite of Montreal stage character or band member), and a room dedicated to Double Dutch jump rope courtesy of the Tina Turners double dutch crew. False Priest will be available September 13th in UK/Europe and 14th in North America on CD, LP (2xLP / 180 gram vinyl with exclusive 180-gram red vinyl edition limited to 2,000 copies) and digital formats. The album features the lead single, “Coquet Coquette” which is now available for purchase from all DSP’s (released July 6) and includes remixes of the track by Starf*cker and Yip Deceiver. There will also be a video for the song later this summer. All album and single artwork was created by Apollinaire Rave’s David Barnes and Gemini Tactics.

False Priest features 13 tracks and was co-produced by of Montreal front man Kevin Barnes and Grammy-nominated producer Jon Brion (Kanye West, Fiona Apple, Rufus Wainwright). The new LP also features guest appearances from critically acclaimed artists Janelle Monáe and Solange Knowles. The album was initially recorded at Barnes’ Apollinaire Rave studios in Athens, GA, with Brion handling additional re-recording, mixing and engineering at Ocean Way Recording in Los Angeles, CA.
