PROCEEDS FROM THE SALES WILL GO TO THE LEGAL AID OF ANIMAL RIGHT ACTIVISTS AND VEGAN OUTREACH
New York Independent label The Saturday Team has released “Prisoners of War”. Looking for a way to help Peter Young an animal rights activist who was recently released after serving a federal term in a California prison for releasing and conspiring to release over 8,000 minks from fur farms.
This CD started as an idea a few of his friends had to help him pay his legal costs and it quickly snowballed into a veritable who’s who of the underground music scene. 25 bands and their record labels came together and agreed to donate all their proceeds from sales of this compilation to support Peter.
Although the bands on this compilation are all connected to the animal rights movement in one way or another, this CD has broad appeal outside of the laboratory raiding, protest going, anti-fur and non-leather wearing crowd. The music covers a wide variety of styles, yet still manages to work together well.
You don’t have to be a Vegan to love these bands:
