Rock N Roll Benefit raises over 30,000 for UCP Wheels For Humanity

December 16, 2008 – Los Angeles, CA – Over $30,000 was raised for UCP WHEELS FOR HUMANITY at the third annual ROCK TO ROLL charity event spearheaded by SideOneDummy Co-Founder Joe Sib. The sold out event took place at The Key Club in West Hollywood, CA on December 14. The night featured a headlining performance from ALKALINE TRIO as well as sets from THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM, BROADWAY CALLS and PUNK ROCK KARAOKE (featuring members of NOFX, Bad Religion, Pennywise and Social Distortion.) Guest singers for Punk Rock Karaoke included Keith Morris (Circle Jerks), Jack Grisham (TSOL), Mike McColgan (Street Dogs), Jon Pebsworth (Buck-O-Nine), Joey LaRocca (The Briggs), Joe Sib (22 Jacks) and Tim McIlrath (Rise Against.) Tim’s band mates in Rise Against also joined him on stage for a two song surprise appearance. Everyone in attendance received a commemorative poster featuring the artwork of Brian Ewing.
A second benefit for UCP Wheels for Humanity is scheduled in NYC at the Bowery Ballroom on Friday, December 19 at 8PM. Jesse Malin headlines with special guests Brian Fallon (from The Gaslight Anthem) and Beautiful Small Machines.
