Side One Dummy signs Rozwell Kid

West Virginia’s Rozwell Kid have joined Side One Dummy’s roster, consisting of bands like Andrew Jackson Jihad, Jeff Rosenstock, PUP, Superheaven, and more. They will be joining label mates Andrew Jackson Jihad for some shows in the Southeast before joining The Get Up Kids 20th anniversary East Coast tour. The Get Up Kids tour with Rozwell Kid will be stopping at Irving Plaza on December 9th in NYC and at Bell House in Brooklyn on December 10th.
It’s undeniable that Rozwell Kid consistently draw comparisons to any pre-millenia Weezer record. It’s as inevitable as Rozwell Kid is loud. They’re more than that, though. Rozwell Kid is fun, infectious and kinetic. Their latest music video for “Kangaroo Pocket” perfectly encompasses that, and the reason why Pitchfork declared that the band “captures pop-punk’s original spirit, making extroverted, shoutalong songs about being too lazy to get off the damn couch.”
Fresh off performances at Riot Fest and Wicker Park Fest in Chicago, Rozwell Kid has barely been off the road since the 2014 release of their quirky album Too Shabby. Immediately following their upcoming performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX, they’ll pack the van and join everyone’s favorite weird-o cult gang and new labelmates Andrew Jackson Jihad for a handful of shows in the southeast before meeting up with The Get Up Kids for their 20th anniversary east coast tour.
