Gold and Guns on 51 is the recorded debut of New Orleans’ two-man Rock ‘n’ Roll trebuchet The Blackfire Revelation — a shotgun wedding of spiked garage-tastic riff-a-rama and massive metallic wallop. Recorded in South New Orleans this Summer, this five-song EP finds the tag team of guitarist/singer John Fields and drummer Hank Haney mounting a sonic assault as heavy, huge and broad as the old expanded touring edition of Ministry; this, merely documenting the awesome BPR live show, bears the proof (I’ve watched them rehearse and Fields does lay down lead and rhythm parts simultaneously via deft echo-pedal ballet).

This release features 3 originals along with covers by The Troggs and Blue Cheer and Sean Yseult guests on one track (showing good taste, keeping good company!) The Blackfire Revelation are currently recording their full length debut for Fat Possum in Oxford, Mississippi.
