“Only put on this record if you can stomach a cocktail of Napalm Death’s grind, Pantera’s groove and the face-pummeling hate of Lamb Of God” Planet Loud

In the endless wake of faceless “whatever you want to call it” core bands, The Destro plows through stereotypes and labels with a sound they can call their own. Vocalist Eric Daughtry says, “We just take all our influences which are everything from classic rock and blues to grind core it’s a mixture of everything we grew up with here in Texas.” Guitarist Nick continues, “No fashion, no gimmicks, no fancy haircuts ust honest music. We cut out all the bulls**t. This band plays music with soul and we are not here to try and fit into a mold.”

Formed while in their late teens in August of 2000, the band began gigging in just a couple of months. After performing for a couple of years under another name, The Destro was the name given to the band in 2003 as they were looking for a change. Through hundreds of shows and two E.P s,, they perfected their musicianship, tones and musical direction, ignoring trends and the current state of popular music. The Destro’s hard work led to opening Summer Sanitarium show outside of Texas Stadium and official radio-sponsored after shows for Slayer, Hatebreed, Rob Zombie, Korn, System of a Down, and Disturbed. The band has also shared the stage with many diverse acts such as Staind, Trivium, Three Days Grace, Unearth, Bleeding Through, God Forbid, All That Remains, Light This City, Animosity, Through The Eyes Of The Dead, Caliban, Full Blown Chaos, Thine Eyes Bleed, Candiria, Hate Eternal, The Crown, Nuclear Assault, Vehemence, Hopesfall, The Esoteric, My Ruin, It Dies Today, Losa, Dope, and more.

The Destro’s sound caught the ears of Trevor Phipps’ (Unearth) label Ironclad Records in late 2006 finally giving the band a chance at taking their vision and career to the next level. The band is now ready to unleash their first proper full length cd, As the Coil Unwinds. through Ironclad Recordings with Metal Blade distribution. A huge stepping stone for The Destro, this disc contains music that defies cliches or limitations left by predecessors. This is a band determined to make their mark and this is only the beginning.
