This year’s event will take place in Gainesville, FL over the course of three days (Oct 31, Nov 1, 2) and features over 300 of the best independent and underground bands in the world. On a related note, last week organizers announced the FEST COMEDY SHOWCASE headlined by Chris Gethard. Most known from his popular independent talk show, you may have also caught him on Comedy Central’s Broad City or heard his recent album on Don Giovanni Records. Other performers appearing on the Comedy Showcase include Dave Ross, Allen Strickland Williams, John-Michael Bond, Ian Douglas Terry, Goodrich Gevaart, Zach Peterson, Stephanie Hasz, Brandie Posey and more.

And finally, Kaiju Big Battel has been confirmed for both THE FEST 13 in Gainesville and Tampa’s BIG PRE-FEST IN LITTLE YBOR 2. This is the monster vs. monster cage match you never knew you wanted, featuring terrible costumes, acrobatic wrestling moves and a weirdly elaborate origin story. Yes, this is happening and you know that you’re going. Don’t deny yourself the guilty pleasure.
