Yellowcard returned with new album Paper Walls out July 17th, the follow-up to 2006’s gold-certified Lights and Sounds and their multi-platinum 2003 smash, Ocean Avenue. Drawing from both the universal, buoyant, hook-filled style of Ocean Avenue and the tougher edges of Lights and Sounds, Paper Walls takes it all a step further with an energized, anthemic and forward-looking set of songs. The Los Angeles Times recently described the album as feeling “almost like a singles collection, with singer Ryan Key’s adenoidal yearnings perfect for sorting out youth’s highs and lows” while Absolutepunk.net described it as “an album not only full of sing-a-longs but also awash with full-bodied emotion. This results in a release that leaves both the casual listener looking for a soundtrack to their summer days, and those looking for more depth in their music, immensely satisfied.”

After a stint on the 2007 Vans Warped Tour and a few club dates with Sum 41 the band has joined Blue October on a fall tour from September 20 November 10.

Yellowcard emerged from Jacksonville, Florida with a completely infectious and original blend of rock, punk and classical (owing to violinist Sean Mackin) that made them a sure thing to break out of the pack, but even the band could not have imagined how far.
