American Dad Earns Top Adults 18-34 Delivery, Ratings on Adult Swim
Adult Swim Scores Seven Weeks of #1 Total Day Delivery Among Adults 18-24, Men 18-34 and Men 18-24 on Ad-Supported Cable;
Charts 15 of Top 50 Basic Cable Programs for Adults 18-34, 10 of Top 50 Programs for Adults 18-49
The Adult Swim presentation of American Dad (Sunday, 11:30 p.m.) proved its young adult appeal by scoring as the network’s highest-rated show of the week among adults 18-34, according to Nielsen Media Research. The irreverent series, coupled with Family Guy and original series Robot Chicken, helped Adult Swim continue its ad-supported basic cable streak as #1 in total day delivery of adults 18-24, men 18-34 and men 18-24 for the past seven weeks.
Adult Swim programming also claimed 15 of ad-supported basic cable’s top 50 programs of the week among adults 18-34, with American Dad landing at #7 with 1,133,000 viewers. Adult Swim also charted 10 of the top 50 programs for the week among adults 18-49. As a result, the late-night service regained its crown as the #1 network in total day delivery of adults 18-34, and ranked #3 among adults 18-49 and #5 among persons 2+ (1,130,000).
Highlights of Adult Swim’s performance vs. the same week of the Adult Swim block on Cartoon Network last year (11 p.m.-5 a.m., Monday-Thursday, Saturday-Sunday) include the following:
ADULT SWIM in April (Monday-Thursday, Saturday-Sunday, 11 p.m.-6 a.m.)
– Adults 18-34 delivery (407,000) increased by 9% and ratings (0.6) were unchanged.
– Adults 18-24 delivery (237,000) improved by 7% and ratings (0.9) by 13%
– Men 18-34 delivery (273,000) grew by 12% and ratings (0.8) by 14%.
– Men 18-24 delivery (167,000) advanced by 13% and ratings (1.2) by 9%.
– Adults 18-49 delivery (533,000) soared by 17% and ratings (0.4) were unchanged.
Adult Swim (AdultSwim.com), launched on Cartoon Network in 2001, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s network dedicated to edgy animated comedy and action series, both original and acquired, airing Saturday-Thursday from 11 p.m-6 a.m. (ET, PT).
