Battlestar Galactica is a show I hear all these great things about, but never watched one episode; either the original 70s show or the re-vamped shows on SyFy. They seem like great nerd fun though! These scores are from the featured length TV movies The Plan and Razor. Razor was an extended episode detailing the chronicles of the Battlestar Pegasus. The Plan’s story is told with more emphasis on the Cylon perspective, and their plan to wipe out the human race. Whatever that means.

The score was composed by Bear McCreary, who mainly does TV scores like Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Eureka, Human Target and Caprica. Bear’s score for these TV movies has an Asian music style to the music and I like it. Sort of reminds me of scores like Ronin or Last Samurai. So expect to hear lots of Asian style classical instruments in these score tracks. I’m not familiar with his previous Battlestar Galactica scores so not sure if they have an Asian style as well. I presume they do since he probably is consistent with the score. The track listing is mixed up from the 2 TV movies, and isn’t in any sort of order. I’m not sure if that will bother fans or not, but as a non-fan the score seems seamless.

Bottom Line: A nice touch to complete your Battlestar Galactica collection
Notable Tracks: Attack on Scorpion Shipyards, Husker in Combat
