Marking his 30 year anniversary in the business, VP Records commemorates Beres Hammond with a must own 2 Cd collection of hits spanning his entire career. Tracing back to his early days as a singer in Zap Pow to his solo records that are played with great enjoyment. Beres Hammond is the king of love songs. I guarantee you drop this record in the player and the girls will be lovin ya for it. I’m tellin’ you! Songs like “Tempted to Touch,” “Sweet Lies,” “Love From A Distance,” and my favorite “Putting Up a Resistance,” are just some of the classic love ballads Beres and co. have produced. It’s just not straight lover’s rock, but with a splash of dancehall thrown in with collaborations with Buju Banton, Marcia Griffiths, and Big Youth. “Can’t Stop A Man” is one hit after another. Every track is truly enjoyable.
Bottom Line: You can’t get better than this. Beres Hammond is the man.
Notable Tracks: “Double Trouble,” “Pull It Up.” “Groovy Little Thing,” “Step Aside.” Plus songs mentioned above.
