Irritated, cranky vocals fronting a tight pop-punk band. They’re not super fast, but the songs are concise – they pack 10 tracks in under 17 minutes.

Blistering and simplistic with catchy choruses, the Blastoffs certainly are a rocket ride. My only caveat is that the vox have a warbly Bob Mould essence, which is either good or bad depending on your love for Husker Du (mine knows no boundary). The Blastoffs should actually play it up and have some more sonically-appropriate songs to befit the vox. In their present straight-up punk manner, the vocals end up sounding muted and washed out.

Bottom Line: Straight up punk with a little poppiness and a little Bob Mould.
Notable Tracks: Socially Retarded, Falling Off the Face of the Earth
