Oh, to be 15 again. I’m pretty sure my teenage self would’ve loved Brookside, a Long Island band, who, according to their press release play ‘Long Island style pop-punk’. I had no idea there was a specific style designated to it, but hey, everyone wants to be part of a scene. And I guess this is music for suburbia. You know, generic emotional pop punk about love, never leaving home, and Myspace.

That said, this isn’t half bad. These guys know what they are and at least write some catchy songs. They sound pretty much like every band you’d assume they sound like: A New Found Glory, Brand New, etc. And despite not having the word ‘New’ in their bandname, they’re perfect for the teenage suburban set.

I was ready to trash this for being stupid-ass commercial mall punk, but it was still better than most of the other punk crap that I was sent. I mean, in all reality, these guys may have less ‘punk cred’, but they have way more potential to actually survive playing their music. And I’ll give them that.

Bottom Line:
Notable Tracks: Tonight, Long Island, Face Down, Pretty in Pictures
