Calico System are a metalcore band from St. Louis who mix some hardcore, metal, punk, and emo tendencies together. They’re definitely on the more aggressive side, but are pretty tight musically and the singer screams pretty well. I was worried it was going into screamo territory, but it doesn’t. Even when the guitars become more melodic, the aggression is still there, and the singer still screams. I wouldn’t say I like this – there’s nothing all to original here, but that said, it’s still quite a bit better than some of the crap I’ve had to listen to for review.

Bottom Line: Decent metalcore.
