If anyone is scared that Fat Wreck is turning country with the release of Old Man Markley, don’t worry; they are back with more punk rock. Cobra Skulls hail from Nevada and their newest album should please the punks, even though it’s only 5 tracks.

When listening to Cobra Skull’s Fat’s debut EP, bands like The Vandals, Bad Religion and One Man Army come to mind. Their first track “Doomsday Parade” is a cool track, that even features some horns at the end. “Ice in the Night” had a bit of a twangy flair to it, and I liked that. Obviously the highlight of the EP is a cover of Bad Religion’s “Give You Nothing.” That track was featured on a Bad Religion tribute album called ‘Germs of Perfection’ and also features Fat Mike of NOFX. Cobra Skulls sound good to me, but their music doesn’t really stand out from the rest. But with that said, I still felt this was a decent release that makes me want to hear more from Cobra Skulls.

Bottom Line: An overall good punk rock EP that makes you wanting more
Notable Tracks: Doomsday Parade, Ice In The Night, Give You Nothing
