TKO Records brings you a split CD from similar sounding street punk bands, Complete Control and the Krum Bums. The album is only six songs long and has each band covering one of the other bands songs. It’s very much like the BYO Split Series.
Complete Control kicks off the disc with their three songs and their sound reminds me of Pennywise but without the big guitar solos. I found the vocals hard to understand and the music was much like Pennywise…the same song over and over. It was really hard to distinguish which track I was listening to.
Finishing off the disc is the Krum Bums who are more of a Casualties sounding street punk. They play fast but the harsh vocals are a real turn off and grinds in my ears. I’m glad that there were only three songs on hear from each band because it made the disc a short listen.
Overall, this split was released to introduce Complete Control and give some exposure to the Krum Bums as well. I don’t think that I’ll be picking up any albums from these bands in the future.
Bottom Line: Which band was which? Plain old boring punk rock
Notable Tracks: Cease Fire & Are You Ready (Both bands cover songs)
