Cranked Up! play straight up punk rock that puts me in the mind of early Anti-Flag but with vocals that sound more like Matt Freeman than Justin Sane.
“This Is A Weapon” chugs along at a steady punk rock pace with twelve songs in thirty minutes. The album is both politically and socially charged with songs that deal with everything from greedy record companies to the dissention in the punk community. There are heavy Oi influences throughout the album but the repetition of three chords is the only constant as one song occasionally runs into the next.
Bottom Line: If you like Oi infused street punk, then this is your kind of album.
