This edgy emo band blends together many bad things: high-pitched vocals that sometimes sound like Justin Timberlake, grunge guitars, pop and funk influences. Amazingly, they are not a fetid pile of sticking garbage.

Because they’ve embraced the pop, they’re not entirely unpleasant to listen to. Take “Teacher, Preacher” which is like the Jackson 5 doing an emocore song with synths. Sure, that sounds like a match made in the hot, humid depths of my ass, but it’s just bizarre enough – and executed melodically enough – to be interesting.

Kudos Damiera. You are on the teetering precipice of suckage, but your very nature keeps you from toppling over the edge. Well done.
