Feh. I like weird electro noise in my indie just like the next guy, but when it’s bad, it can really suck. These guys are the latter.
The first track is mostly static and various bloopy sounds, a sign of irritating filler to come. The bulk of the album is bratty hipster chatting over boring indietronica, with various attempts at edginess that come off as eye-rollingly annoying.
Once in awhile they even pretend to get unbearably cathartic as they screech their heads off, but the sentiment rings hollow. I believe it was Theodore Roosevelt who once said, “Noise rock can totally rock, but when it’s a bunch of hipster pussies without passion or talent, it can totally suck.” Once again, our 31st president speaks truth.
Bottom Line: Hipster potpourri that falls flatter than Lori Petty.
