Formed in the late 1970s, El Aviador Dro became big in Spain in the 80s, but remains largely unknown outside their country.

Like Gary Numan and Devo, this band was an early pioneer of electronic music. There are some misses along with the hits, but what’s surprising is how they crafted such a wide variety of music styles that are almost prescient. They were doing early techno pop, synth new wave, and electronica way ahead of their time, and most of it still sounds fresh today.

Bottom Line: Great introduction to an influential and visionary electro band.
