So many metal bands these days seem to forget about the roots of the genre. They try to be as loud, vicious and aggressive as possible, but do they not recall that the forerunners of the genre, like Def Leppard, Poison, and Ratt, also had kickass lyrics about promiscuous sex and alcohol. Because quite frankly, Emmure take themselves too seriously. Grrrr we’re loud and metally. I’d rather hear about why they want to rock rather than having a guy scream really loud – I don’t even understand what he’s saying! If this is what metal is like these days, I’m glad we still have the 80s classics. I think I’m going to go put on some Warrant just to counter this tripe.

Bottom Line: These guys should listen to Poison to understand what REAL metal should be.
