Dancehall legend Everton Blender is back with a new album, but a little different than we are used to. Blender delivers a great roots reggae album, rather than dancehall. Everton Blender first became known to audiences in the US with album “Lift Up Your Head” in 1994, which is an excellent album if you haven’t heard it. “King Man” was uniquely recorded with all live instruments including a full horn section, with the sound reminiscent of the 70s, the time when Reggae was just getting started.
Bottom Line: Everton Blender is the man. Smooth vocals, and roots reggae jamming, bring together a great record.
Notable Tracks: “Gone A Country,” “Is It Because I’m Black,” “True Love”
