Yeah, I liked this band better when they were called the Blue Meanies. Not that I really liked the Blue Meanies, but at least they were irreverent and sometimes fun – the Flaming Tsunamis take their erratic noisiness to an unfocused screamy post-punk level. The noise-with-ska/jazz/funk-breakdowns fail to have that beloved Blue Meanies circusy feel, but simply irritate. It made me cranky.

Bottom Line: Irritating hodgepodge with skanky breakdowns.
