It took me a few listens to like this CD. Don’t get me wrong, I thought these songs were great but I didn’t think they were as good as their previous albums “Swagger” and “Drunken Lullablies”. But my view changed after a few listens and now I think these songs are awesome. The band either plays faster than their 2 Cds, or slower. Lucinda Williams provides supporting vocals with Dave King on “Factory Girls” and it’s a nice country folk ditty. I think the band finally starts to break away from the Pogues comparisons and have a Flogging Molly sound that people will finally recognize as their own. The best track on this Cd is the title track, “Within a Mile of Home.” The accordians sound sharp, Dave King’s voice is top notch and everyone else just rock! Without a doubt, get this CD!

Bottom Line: This band gets better and better with every CD release.
